Weber Packaging Solutions makes closure labeling easy with their Model 5300 Split-Tamp Label Printer-Applicator

Weber Packaging Solutions is introducing their new Model 5300 Split-Tamp Labeling System specifically designed to wrap a label around the edge of a carton.

This new system is perfect for a multitude of applications where the label needs to not only be printed and applied to a carton, but must also wrap around the edge of the product. It can even be used to create a tamper-evident closure. The split tamp applies the label to the surface of the box and then part of the tamp pad continues down the side of the box, wrapping the label as it goes.

The Model 5300 Split-Tamp is based on Weber’s flagship 5300 label printer-applicator that features high-resolution printing and high-speed operation combined with the highly-accurate tamp-blow method of label application. Standard direct- and thermal-transfer print engines from manufacturers Zebra, SATO and Datamax produce text, bar codes and graphic images at 203, 300 or 600 dpi.

The Model 5300 Split-Tamp is built to run 24/7 and is capable of labeling speeds up to 16 ips. Built-in I/O’s ease interfacing with external devices and you can monitor the system via a remote web browser. The system can apply labels either top-down or on two sides around a corner.

Weber will be demonstrating this new system at the 2015 Pharma Expo booth, N-564, in Las Vegas from September 28-30. The 5300 Split-Tamp will be shown printing and applying a UDI label to the top and end flap of a medical device package.
